Growing up in Macomb County

Christina grew up in Warren, Michigan and graduated from Warren Woods Tower High School, where she was in band, theater, and captain of the tennis team. Christina’s parents taught her the importance of hard work and a good education. Christina graduated from the University of Michigan and then attended Wayne State University Law School. Immediately after taking the bar, Christina began working in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

Fighting for Victims

Christina has spent her entire career fighting for justice for victims of crime. Most recently, Christina served as the Chief of the Appeals Division at the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office and served several years as the Chief of the Special Victims Unit Division. Focusing on putting community first, Christina worked with stakeholders in Washtenaw County to create and implement the Restorative Justice Diversion Program. Additionally, she oversaw the prosecution of LGBTQ hate crimes and led the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, which investigates and prosecutes cold case sexual assaults. Christina is proud to have served as President of the First Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Union.

Serving Our Community

Christina was the youngest attorney to Chair the Criminal Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and has served as a member of Wayne and Washtenaw County’s Sexual Assault Review Team, the Child Death Review Committee, the Washtenaw County Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Women Lawyer’s Association of Michigan. Christina has been recognized as one of Crain’s Notable Women in Law, a DBusiness 30 in their Thirties, and a Future Leader by the Detroit Regional Chamber. Christina continues to pursue educational opportunities, completing the Prosecution Leaders of Now through the Stanford Graduate School of Business where she learned cutting edge prosecution methods and leadership strategies. She serves as the President of the Women of Warren, an organization that empowers and advances the interests of women through building community, promoting understanding and inclusion, and celebrating each woman’s unique gifts.

Making Macomb Home

Christina met her husband, David Hines Jr., while the two were in the Michigan Marching Band together - Christina played the tuba and David was the drum major. David is a Project Manager in the Design Center at General Motors. The couple have been married since 2012 and have three children, David III or “Trey,” William, and Cecilia. The Hines family loves to have dance parties, play sports and games, and have movie nights with popcorn.
